Tricyclesports.co.uk is promoting the second staging of the Reading Grand Prix track meeting at Palmer Park on Saturday July 21st, with plenty of prizes on offer for both sprinters and endurance riders.

The meeting is a round of the National Sprinters League and in a new development will host two events in the Central Division Track Championships.

The 20k championship will be incorporated into the Reading Grand Prix "Winner Takes All" scratch race, while the Team Pursuit will be incorporated into an open event. A great chance for teams to practice for the national championships later in this year.

Palmer Park is one of the homes of derny racing in this country, so a special women's only derny event is also on the programme, ideal preparation for the National Derny Championships at Herne Hill the following month. There will be a prize for the highest placed woman in the Reading Grand Prix scratch race.

All competitors will get the chance to win more prizes in the Course de Primes event, while the same applies for the classic Devil Take the Hindmost.

The event is being promoted by www.tricyclesports.co.uk with assistance from Reading Borough Council, AW Cycles.co.uk and Reading Velodrome Racing.

Coming exactly one week before the 2012 Olympics, the organisers are attracting interest from local media and regional television and the event is part of the official 2012 Games celebrations in Reading.
